Let me get my corporate health mantra out in the very first sentence:
No Prepackaged Rhetoric

Is it likely these 3 companies have the same fitness demands? If you think yes, you really need to call me right away!
When designing a corporate health program, there is no one size fits all approach...it becomes one size fits none. You can’t please all of the people all of the time...how many more cliches do we need?
The Toronto Rat Race is brutal - fun in the big city.
There is a generous return on investment for the companies which provide the appropriate employee wellness program. Corporate research has shown repeatedly for every dollar invested on a Corporate Wellness Program, the returns have reported cost savings of between $2.30 and $10.10 in the areas of:
lowered absenteeism
fewer sick days
reduced benefits claims
lowered health and insurance costs
lowered presenteeism - The employee is still at work, however working under a diminished capacity as a result of a physical or emotional illness. A Cornell University study showed that each “sick” employee that comes to work costs the company over $250/year - this number does not even include transmission of illness. OUCH!!!
The most menacing culprits for contributing to employee absenteeism and presenteeism are emotional/mental health disorders, stress, poor fitness levels, smoking & workplace conflict.
An effective employee program focused on health and wellness can go a very long way to curtailing these spiraling costs...bottom line: You have saved the company mega dollars and you are a super hero in the eyes of your employees.....what a great investment!
