The Value of your People
Valuing employees is paramount to the success of a company. Every business guru agrees on that. Think about how important your employees are to the success of your company...yes, yes I know, Human resources and economics are are not always a great couple.
I learned an HR catch phrase recently I really like:
Talent Management: the 3 “R”s Recruiting, Raising, Retaining employees
Many of the business leaders & strategists I have spoken with tell me that effective talent management has the greatest influence on corporate success than any other function. Makes perfect sense. You need good, motivated people to run every department. Imagine our Toronto Blue Jays or Maple Leafs if we had effective talent management?
Employee retention is one of the greatest problems faced by many companies. We all want to feel appreciated & cared for - basic human need.
The overall cost of replacing one employee is 50% of the departing person’s salary. Growth of an organization is dependent on the nurturing of its #1 asset - its people. The Majority of employees claim benefits as being an important workplace offering, yet most are dissatisfied with company offerings. Boost company morale by providing them with a program that hows them how to implement good, clean, healthy, attainable living habits into their every day lives. Higher morale will lead to better employee retention.
Investing in your people in the best way to invest in your company. Investing in a person’s health is truly the best way to show you care about them. Investing in your employee’s health is just as beneficial as buying new equipment or keeping up with technology.
People skills 101: you want your employees to put their very best effort, to care about the company as much as the top management. Invest in them, as much as you want them to invest in the company. Make it a mutually rewarding relationship. Invest in their health.
